nova conference

During November 7th to the 9th, while autumn was finally setting in Madrid, a group of Italian IE students from the Nov. ‘13 and Apr. ‘14 intakes and a group of Italian IE Alumni, represented IE at a global conference of Italian students and Alumni from the top MBA programs (Harvard, Columbia, Stanford, MIT, etc.). This conference was organized by Italian MBA students from LBS and NOVA. NOVA is an Italian association aimed at encouraging Italian students to participate in leading MBA programs and to foster networking with Alumni of the best MBA schools in the world. The theme of the conference, “Renaissance 2015″, was meant to take a closer look at how Italy can harness current business trends to drive growth and innovation in its economy. During the three-day event, several Italian business leaders took part in different panels, including Alessandro Profumo, Chairman of MPS bank, Federico Ghizzoni, CEO of Unicredit bank, and Paolo Scaroni, Deputy Chairman at Rothschild Group. The conference stimulated many ideas to help Italian growth: starting from the support of the start-up ecosystem through a more competitive regulation and financing options, to the fight against the chronic diaspora of Italian young talent. These very interesting conferences have been alternated with friendly networking events held in some of the most beautiful locations in London, such as the Italian Embassy, the Royal Institute of British Architect, and the LBS facilities. Our students also had the opportunity to connect more in depth with some of the most important consulting companies, which were sponsoring the event, during individual meetings and at informal networking events. IE attendance at this event was the first step in granting IE Italian students access to the NOVA MBA association and its network. For any questions about this event you can contact the IE Italy Club or visit the event official website.
