Formed in July, IE’s International Women’s Board Tackles Issues of Gender Diversity.

In the run up to International Women’s Day, held this year on March 8th, IE University will host its Women’s Week with activities scheduled in Madrid and Segovia that celebrate and empower women in the workplace. Beyond the week of activities, however, IE Business School is taking serious steps to support women and bolster the presence of female students, faculty and board members.

Female Students in our School

Currently, enrolment for female students across graduate programs in the Business School is 38%.

Even so, the Business School intends to raise female enrolment across all programs by 2021.

To that end, the school has already put some key initiatives in place to appeal to women prospective students, including the Women4Women ambassador program to support female applicants during the application process, women scholarships, the very active Women in Business Club, specific online sessions for women—and IMBA Associate Dean Jose Esteves’ newly-launched Women in Tech program for students interested in a career in tech companies.

Additionally, IE University created the IE Women Initiative to provide a hub to tackle issues of gender diversity across the institution. IE faculty researchers, student clubs, alumni and staff work together to design the best possible tools to attract and retain female talent, especially in Business, Technology, and Entrepreneurship.

IE International Women’s Board

An important step came in July with the creation of the IE International Women’s Board, comprised of outstanding IE alumni, international scholars of excellence, and other key supporters. The board mentors students and enhances the global reach of IE women’s networking.
